Lyra is a four-piece heavy band, but for now the members are keeping their individual identities in the background. The project is built around the fictional character of Lyra, who acts as the visual and narrative centre of the band’s world. The band started from “Y”, the guitarist, composer and founder, and “L”, the vocalist in late 2024. They began writing songs together first, before the line-up later took its full shape with “R” on bass and A on drums, who joined the band on the following year.

Song - "Below"
Below : the debut single.
“Below” is the debut single from Trilogy of the Moon, and it is probably the roughest and most direct track on the EP. Lyrically and emotionally, the song sits in a moment of transition. It is about the uncomfortable side of change: the pressure, the losses, and the realisations that come with a transformation. It is not a clean or peaceful metamorphosis. It is more about the impact and friction that happen when something inside you is forced to shift.
Musically, “Below” is very much on the heavier metalcore side of Lyra. It has screams, growls and drop A riffs, but it also opens into more melodic and harmonic choruses. That contrast is an important part of the band’s sound: heavy, low and aggressive sections placed against wider, more emotional moments.

The Mission:
What we are trying to build with Lyra is not just a collection of separate songs, but a wider narrative arc. The first chapter is called Trilogy of the Moon: a three-song EP that has already been recorded and is now being developed through visuals, videos and artwork.
There is a strong audiovisual side to the project as well. Some of the members work professionally in the gaming industry, including art direction, so the visual identity is not an afterthought for us. It is part of how the music is written and presented.
What Comes Next
The full Trilogy of the Moon EP is already recorded. It is made of three tracks, and we are currently working on the visual side of the release, artwork, graphics, and the remaining video material connected to the songs. Since Lyra is still a new band, we are trying to build things step by step instead of forcing everything at once. The goal is to understand how people.
